T-24 hours = Packing

I find it very ironic how I have spent time, money, resources, to ensure that I have everything that I need when traveling to a land that has nothing. The irony is somehow I might feel re-assured because of the "things" in which I deem necessary. Whereas the people of Haiti are relieved to be alive, they don't need anything.

mission announcement

It feels amazing to share this news with you, as I am humbled to be part of a mission trip to Haiti. The journey has already begun of course the usual preparations: shots, passport, flights, etc. However the discernment piece is beginning to show forth as well. What will it mean to serve the last of the least of the children? What does it feel like to have a complete stranger come into your life for one week and accept their love unconditionally? Why is that the heart of an orphan is so willing to receive love, when it is so hard for us to say I love you to people we have known our entire lives?

Obviously seeking.
